About
Casa Grande was built by D. Manuel Rivero in 1745, following the pattern of the Cádiz houses of the time. The house is distributed around a courtyard, with four galleries in arches supported by marble columns.
Currently, the Casa Grande is the headquarters of the Municipal Cultural Department, housing the "Jiménez Barberi" Municipal Library, several exhibition rooms and a small auditorium. In the permanent exhibition room, on the first floor, the Flemish Paintings of Jan Sanders Van Hemessen (1500-1556), considered one of the best collections of Flemish painting in Andalusia, are on display.
