About
Located in the coastal city of Almuñécar, the parish church of La Encarnación is worthy of note for being the first temple of the province of Granada built under the canons of Baroque style. Based on the plans by Juan de Herrera, it was built by Ambrosio de Vico around 1600.
Over the building stands the tower, slender and elegant, topped with a beautiful spire. The city's patron saint, the Virgen de la Antigua, is kept here.
