Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla

About

Since its birth in 1980, the Seville Flamenco Biennial has represented the epicentre and guiding beacon of the flamenco universe. Its journey of more than four decades has been crucial for the preservation and global projection of this heritage, serving as an inspiration for national and international artistic replicas. Under the historical direction of key figures – from its founder José Luis Ortiz Nuevo to its current head, Luis Ybarra, including Orozco, Herrera, Copete, González, Ortega, Gómez, Zoido and Blanco – the festival has been able to trace a fruitful dialogue between the most orthodox tradition and contemporary experimentation. The Biennial thus stands as a unique meeting point for fans and creators; a deep immersion that safeguards the legacy of the great masters and celebrates the present heartbeat of an art that moves the world.
