Cordoba Guitar Festival is the most important cultural event focusing on one instrument, with the longest history in the city. This musical event, which gathers artists, guitarists, musicians, the general public, teachers and students every July, is holding its 43rd edition in 2024, thus becoming one of the most important festivals in the world that specialises in one instrument.
On 1-11 July 2024, the World Heritage City of Cordoba will once again become the Guitar City. This year's edition will feature a carefully planned programme of concerts and shows, with very different musical styles all revolving around the guitar. The list of great musicians that come to play continues to grow, and many different styles are represented: flamenco, modern, jazz, and classical and early music. In order to adapt to the current circumstances of the pandemic, the prestigious FGC Training Programme has been reinvented with the name "Guitar Counts". Eight sessions with eight guitarists where they will tell interesting facts about their music careers and explain details about what they are going to play. The music programme is rounded off with a series of complementary activities, such as the traditional Study Days on the history of guitar, presentations, publications, and more.
